SCHADS Level 2 Pay Rate 2026-27: Every Pay Point
Minimum rates for level 2 under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (MA000100), effective from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2026.
The short answer
A Social and community services (SACS) employee at level 2 is paid $36.22 an hour at pay point 1, rising to $39.53 an hour at pay point 4. A casual at pay point 1 is paid $45.28 an hour, including the 25% casual loading. On the full-time weekly rate of $1,376.49, take-home pay after income tax and the Medicare levy is $58,153 a year, rising to $62,589 at the top pay point.

Every weekly and hourly rate above was read from the award text at the Fair Work award library, from the award’s own wage tables rather than a summary of them. The casual column is the only exception. MA000100 publishes no casual rates at all, so every casual figure on this page is derived by applying the 25 per cent loading to the hourly rate beside it. Nothing here is copied from another pay site. An equal remuneration order applies to the Schedule B and Schedule C classifications. The award states the ERO 'current weekly wage' and 'current hourly wage' form employees' ordinary rates of pay for all purposes. Social and community services level 1 is not in the ERO tables, so its clause 15.1 minimum is its operative rate.

What is the SCHADS level 2 hourly rate?
A social and community services employee at level 2 is paid $36.22 an hour at pay point 1, rising to $39.53 an hour at pay point 4. Across every stream of the award that publishes a level 2, the range is $28.86 to $50.25 an hour. These rates apply from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2026.
What is the casual rate for SCHADS level 2?
A casual is paid the hourly rate for their classification plus a loading of 25%. At social and community services level 2, that is $45.28 an hour at pay point 1 and $49.41 an hour at pay point 4. The loading replaces the paid leave and notice entitlements casuals do not receive, so it is not extra pay on top of an otherwise identical job.
How do pay points work at level 2?
A pay point is a step inside a level, and each step has its own weekly, hourly and casual rate. At level 2 the number of steps differs by stream: 4 in Social and community services (SACS), 4 in Crisis accommodation, 2 in Home care — disability care and 4 in Family day care. Home care — aged care publishes a single rate at this level, with no pay points. No level 2 pay point carries a qualification note in the award wage tables.
Which jobs sit at SCHADS level 2?
The award does not publish job titles. It publishes level 2 in these streams: Social and community services (SACS) (Schedule B); Crisis accommodation (Schedule C); Home care — disability care (Schedule E); Home care — aged care (Schedule F); Family day care (Schedule D). Which stream applies depends on the work your employer engages you to do, and your pay point inside it is set by the classification definitions in that schedule, not by your job title.
Why do SCHADS level 2 rates differ between streams?
Each stream has its own schedule of rates in the award, so a level 2 in one stream is not the same classification as a level 2 in another. Equal remuneration order PR525485 also applies to Social and community services (SACS) and Crisis accommodation. It lifts those rates above the minimum weekly wage printed in clause 15, and the figures on this page are the operative rates with the order already applied.
