19 of 19 rates against Schedule C

Every rate above was read from the award text at the Fair Work award library and then checked a second time against Schedule C of the same award, which republishes the hourly rates. Casual rates are the award’s own published figures rather than our multiplication, because the award rounds differently from a calculator. Nothing here is copied from another pay site.

What this page does not cover.

Listed as plainly as what it does, because a rate page that hides its gaps is how the wrong number ends up on a payslip.

  • Penalty rates

Overtime, shift, weekend and public holiday work is paid at a higher rate set separately in the award.

  • Junior rates

Rates for employees under 21 are set separately in the award and are not carried in this data.

  • Apprentice and trainee rates

The award sets its own scales for apprentices and trainees. Neither is published on this page.

  • Allowances

The award sets allowances on top of these rates. None of them is published here.

  • Higher classifications

The rates table read from the award ends at C2(b) / V14. Any classification the award sets above that is not published here.

  • Classification definitions

Which level applies to a job is decided by the award, on the work done rather than the job title. This page publishes the rates, not the level test.

Manufacturing Award Pay Rates questions, answered.

What are the new award rates for 2026 in Australia?

Every modern award minimum rose from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2026, following the Fair Work Commission's Annual Wage Review. Under the Manufacturing and Associated Industries and Occupations Award 2020 that puts the entry classification, C14 / V1, at $25.74 an hour and $978.10 a week for a full-time employee, and the top of the table, C2(b) / V14, at $39.83 an hour. The figures on this page take effect from 1 July 2026 under determination PR799291.

What is the minimum wage for manufacturing?

The floor for an adult employee covered by this award is $25.74 an hour, $978.10 a week full-time, at the C14 / V1 entry classification. A casual at that classification is paid $32.18 an hour, which is the award's own published casual figure including the 25% loading. Where an award covers the work, the award rate is the legal minimum, not the National Minimum Wage.

What is a C14 classification?

C14 is the entry classification: the lowest of the 15 classification rates in the table above, at $25.74 an hour. Every other classification in the award's table is paid more than it, up to $39.83 an hour at C2(b) / V14. The award prints two labels against most of these rates, C14 / V1 for example, and the table above carries both.

What is the C10 rate under the Manufacturing Award?

C10 / V5 is paid $29.45 an hour and $1,119.10 a week full-time, with a casual rate of $36.81 an hour. The table above shows every classification either side of it, so you can check the step up and the step down before agreeing a level.

Do drivers have their own rates under the Manufacturing Award?

Yes. The award publishes a separate driver scale inside the same rates table, D1 to D4, running from $28.33 to $29.42 an hour. Those rows are labelled in the table above.

Do these rates include penalty rates or shift loadings?

No. The figures on this page are ordinary-hours minimum rates. Overtime, shift work, weekend and public holiday work are paid at a higher rate set separately in the award. Those rates are not published on this page, and no figure appears here that has not been read from the award text.
